Stop The Sun- literary focus- Question # 7: Make a Judgement
I do think that Terry made a right decision of questioning his dad on his experience at Vietnam War. Why? Because he loved his father. When he saw his father acted strangely, unlike others because of his syndrome. When he asked his father about the experiences, throughout the story, he could realize everything that happened in his father head. With all the sudden, he knew that he was wrong of being ashamed with his father attitude. But, if he didn’t ask his father to talk about the experiences at the war, he would keep his self full of embarrassing from his dad weird attitude, caused by the syndrome at Vietnam War, that will last forever inert on his father mind. Also, when he and his father had the conversation, the hood between Terry and his dad gained bigger, tighter, as the feeling of the son felt sorrow for his dad bad luck. In my perspective, it’s the precious moral for Terry, that he should accept his family members, no matter who they are or what they have, especially is for his dad, the person who gave birth to him. In addition, I believe that Terry made a right choice; helped him to get rid of embarrassment, either gained the better for the relationship between him and his father.
